Government Publishes Guidelines for High Rise Building Owners

The government has published further advice that brings together all the results and the views of the expert panel on the implications for building owners.The government is due to meet with local authorities and housing associations to discuss further.
One topic that has come up again and again following the Grenfell tragedy, is the call for sprinkler systems to be put in all high rise buildings.
Today the BBC reported that sprinkler firms across the country are unable to keep pace with landlords' demands for the systems of late.
Of 33 companies that they interviewed:
Thirty say they have seen a surge in inquiries, with firms providing between 150% and 500% more quotes than normal
Nine have a waiting list of up to two months before considering new jobs
Eight are actively turning away business
An Industry Response Group has also been established to “help the sectors required to improve building safety and to accordance their efforts”.
